Building Domain-Aware and Context-Driven Artificial Intelligence Systems. Recognized with EB-1 and O-1A visas for extraordinary ability in sciences.
I'm an Applied AI Scientist with over a decade of experience developing AI-driven solutions and leading cross-functional teams of data scientists, software engineers, and domain experts. My expertise lies in Domain-Aware and Context-driven Artificial Intelligence for scaling enterprise applications in dynamic and complex production environments.
At AT&T Labs, I play a key role in creating innovative AI-based tools to automate and optimize wireless networks, focusing on improving both operational efficiency and customer experience. One of my notable projects, "Agentic AI for RAN Diagnostics", leverages Agentic AI and deep domain knowledge to revolutionize root cause analysis of wireless network customer complaints.
I hold a PhD in Machine Learning from the University of Oklahoma, where my research centered on enhancing the generalizability and adaptability of AI systems in dynamic environments. Prior to joining AT&T, I worked at T-Mobile USA, developing large-scale AI solutions for network planning and troubleshooting within advanced wireless technologies.

It was a pleasure working with Usama when he was an intern at T-Mobile in 2021 and the first half of 2022. In addition to his deep and broad knowledge in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, he is also knowledgeable in matters related to RF, 3GPP systems, and O-RAN architecture. This vast knowledge was the fount from which emerged creative ideas for projects. He did an excellent job putting together project proposals and slide decks, and communicating project details to multiple levels of management. Usama was very resourceful and reached out to, and engaged, the right teams and people across the company to advance projects. His hard work and dedication culminated with the submission of a patent application with the US PTO by the end of his internship. Without a doubt, Usama is a great addition to any technical team responsible for developing AI/ML solutions.
Usama is a very hard working and dedicated person. His work ethics at AI4Networks Center is commendable and is exemptional. His research as well as his critical thinking skill is one of the best I have seen so far. He has a very wide knowledge and deep understanding in the field of Artificial Intelligence applied to wireless cellular networks. He surely will be a good asset to any company.
I have worked alongside Usama in the same group at the University of Oklahoma. I have found Usama to be highly skilled with a strong understanding of the wireless networks along with deep learning algorithms which he often utilizes in his work. His range of skill set makes him a bright prospect in the 5G, AI domain.
I'm always interested in discussing research collaborations, consulting opportunities, or just connecting with fellow researchers and engineers. Feel free to reach out!
